As the Maintenance Electrician, your responsibilities will primarily focus on electrical systems, but also involve broader maintenance tasks, including:
... - Fault Finding & Diagnostics: Specializing in electrical diagnostics to quickly identify and resolve complex issues within waste compactors, balers, and processing machinery. This includes troubleshooting control circuits, motors, sensors, and PLCs.
- Preventive Maintenance & Inspections: Proactively maintaining electrical components and systems to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
- Waste & Recycling Compactors: Performing electrical aspects of removals and installations of compactors, ensuring safe and compliant wiring.
- Compactor Maintenance: Providing comprehensive electrical and general maintenance for both horizontal and vertical presses.
- Hydraulic System Diagnostics: While primarily electrical, you will also perform hydraulic diagnostics to identify electrical causes of hydraulic issues.
- Gearbox & Pump Alignment: Assisting with electrical connections and ensuring proper operation after mechanical alignments.
- Basic Welding: Performing basic MIG and stick welding as needed for minor repairs related to electrical component mounting or cable routing.
- Refurbishment & Restoration: Carrying out electrical refurbishment and rewiring during the restoration of waste compactors.
- Chain Drives & Pulley Systems: Ensuring electrical safety and functionality of associated motor and control systems.
- Chute Unblocking: Diagnosing and rectifying electrical issues preventing material flow.
- Odour Control Installations: Performing electrical installations and maintenance of odour control systems.
- Chute Door - Inspection & Repairs: Diagnosing and repairing electrical components related to chute door operation and safety interlocks.
Job requirements:
- Qualified Electrician: Hold a valid NSW Electrician's Licence (or equivalent, recognised in NSW).
- Proven Electrical Fault-Finding Expertise: Strong hands-on experience in diagnosing and rectifying complex electrical faults in industrial machinery.
- Experience with Industrial Control Systems: Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, sensors, and motor controls.
- Hydraulic Diagnostics: Ability to understand and diagnose electrical issues impacting hydraulic systems.
- Customer-Focused Approach: Professional, clear communication and excellent service when interacting with clients.
- Independence & Reliability: Capable of working autonomously and managing your time effectively on site.
- Valid Australian Driver's Licence: Essential for travel to client sites around Sydney.
- Strong Safety Commitment: Adhering to the highest safety standards in all operations.
- Experience with Waste Equipment: Previous electrical maintenance experience with compactors, balers, or similar heavy industrial machinery is highly regarded.
