Our client is a leading provider of transport maintenance services across Australia. Due to ongoing maintenance contracts, we are seeking multiple skilled Mechanical Tradespeople to based in their Newcastle based Workshop.

What’s Involved?

Overhaul of mechanical underframes from the Rail sector
Production environment of refurbishing train wheel sets
Machine Operating - Lathes and Borers
Strip / assess / rebuild brake systems
Strip and reassemble wheels & axles
Remove and re assemble bearings
Operating a wide range of hand and power tools
Collaborating as part of a dynamic team

What We’re Looking For:

Qualified Light Vehicle Tradespeople or other recognised Mechanical Trades
Able to work day and afternoon shift
A great attitude and willingness to learn
Rail maintenance experience is highly regarded, but not essential
Forklift ticket is a plus
Must be able to pass a Rail Category Medical
Strong teamwork and communication skills

What We Offer You:

$58 - $63 per hour (casual rate based on experience)
Monday to Friday
Afternoon shift loading ($67 - $72 / hour)
Machine Specific Training provided
Overtime Available
Ongoing work with the potential for a permanent position
Based in Newcastle
ASAP start
