Key Responsibilities:
Paralegal Support:
- Assisting lawyers with the preparation of legal documents, including briefs, submissions, affidavits, and other court-related materials.
- Conducting legal research and compiling relevant case law, legislation, and other legal resources.
- Maintaining and organising legal files and databases, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including courts, tribunals, and other government agencies, under the direction of legal officers.
- Assisting with the preparation of court and tribunal applications and filings.
- Drafting routine legal correspondence and documents.
- Assisting with the management of litigation and dispute resolution matters.
- Preparing and organising evidence and exhibits for legal proceedings.
- Maintaining legal precedents and knowledge management systems.
Administrative Support:
- Providing high-level administrative support to the legal team, including diary management, scheduling meetings, and coordinating travel arrangements.
- Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence, including mail, email, and phone calls.
- Preparing agendas, minutes, and other meeting documentation.
- Processing invoices and managing financial administrative tasks as required.
- Undertaking general administrative duties to support the team's operational needs.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Proven experience in a legal support role, ideally with demonstrated paralegal responsibilities.
- Strong legal process knowledge.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all work.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and legal database management systems.
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards.
