Your New Position:
The organisation is seeking an experienced and hands-on Internal Communications Specialist to join the team on a 6 month fixed-term contract. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), this is a high-impact, newly created role responsible for shaping the internal narrative and strengthening alignment across the vast global franchise network. The role is based in Sydney with hybrid/flexible work options.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing a clear, engaging internal communications strategy.
- Translating business goals and leadership messages into actionable content for franchise owners.
- Providing communications advice and support to the CEO and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to enhance visibility.
- Partnering with the CEO to strengthen internal thought leadership through updates, messages, and video/written content.
- Leading the redevelopment and ongoing management of the company’s internal digital intranet and communication platforms.
- Managing an editorial calendar, curating network-wide stories, and driving two-way engagement.
- Building strong, trusted relationships with franchise owners to understand their needs and gather feedback.
- Preparing internal speeches, newsletters, and briefing materials.
Your Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years’ experience in internal communications, corporate affairs, or stakeholder engagement.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, able to adapt tone for executives, educators, and franchise owners.
- Proven ability to manage or improve internal communication channels, including intranets or digital collaboration tools.
- Experience working in a distributed, multi-site, or franchise environment (Highly regarded).
- Strong relationship-building and influencing skills, with the confidence to advise senior leaders.
- A hands-on approach - equally comfortable developing strategy and delivering day-to-day content.
- Familiarity with platforms such as SharePoint or Viva Engage (Yammer) is desirable.
- Understanding of change communication and stakeholder engagement principles.
