My client is a leading and well-respected construction company with a strong track record of delivering high-quality projects across South Australia. They are now seeking a highly motivated and dedicated HSEQ Manager to join their leadership team.
About the Role:
As an HSEQ Manager, you will be instrumental in driving and embedding a robust HSEQ culture across all aspects of my client's operations. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining our integrated HSEQ management system, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and client requirements. This is a pivotal role that requires strong leadership, exceptional communication skills, and a proactive approach to risk management and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company's integrated HSEQ management system (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
- Ensure compliance with all relevant WHS, environmental, and quality legislation, regulations, and codes of practice.
- Develop and deliver engaging HSEQ training and induction programs for all employees and subcontractors.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement effective control measures.
- Lead and investigate incidents, ensuring thorough root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
- Develop and monitor HSEQ performance indicators, analyse trends, and report on performance to senior management.
- Foster a positive and proactive HSEQ culture through effective communication, consultation, and engagement with all stakeholders.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, clients, and other external stakeholders on HSEQ matters.
- Manage and mentor the HSEQ team (if applicable).
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the company's strategic objectives.
About You:
- Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in a HSEQ management role within the construction industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant WHS, environmental, and quality legislation and standards in South Australia.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining integrated management systems.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and motivate others.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- A valid driver's license.
