We’re partnering with a premium professional services firm seeking an experienced, commercially minded HR Business Partner to join their People Team in Sydney. This initial 12-month parental leave fixed-term contract offers a high-profile opportunity to operate as a trusted advisor to Partners and business leaders. It is a highly visible role designed for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to play a key role in supporting strategic people initiatives and shaping a high-performing culture.
The RoleReporting to senior HR leadership, you will balance high-level stakeholder management with hands-on delivery across your designated business units. Your primary focus will include:
- Leadership & Culture Coaching: Partnering closely with Partners and business leaders to coach them on leadership effectiveness, engagement strategies, talent development, and embedding an inclusive, high-performing culture.
- Employee Relations & Compliance: Providing expert technical and commercial advice on a broad range of people matters, including employment rights and obligations, performance management, probations, and complex terminations.
- Annual People Processes: Driving key annual initiatives across the firm, including remuneration reviews, talent mapping, promotion cycles, and workforce planning.
- People Operations & Lifecycle Management: Overseeing day-to-day people operations for your business units, collaborating with HR Coordinators to ensure seamless and accurate employee lifecycle execution.
- Strategic Initiatives: Championing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), employee wellbeing programs, learning and development (L&D), and collaborative continuous improvement projects across the wider People team.
You are a seasoned HR professional who brings strong business partnering capability and a sophisticated approach to managing complex stakeholder environments. Experience within a fast-paced professional services firm or a corporate environment is highly regarded. You possess exceptional communication skills, sound employment relations expertise, sharp commercial judgment, and the absolute discretion required to handle sensitive situations with confidence.
