Are you a hands-on HR professional who thrives in a "blue-collar" environment? We are looking for a resilient, detail-oriented People & Culture Advisor to join our clients HR team on a 12 month maternity-leave contract. This is a critical role supporting a workforce of 600, focusing heavily on employee relations and operational excellence.
Reporting to the P&C Manager and working alongside a Senior Advisor, you will be the "boots on the ground" at their Western Sydney site. Your time will be split between managing high-volume case work and supporting broader people initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
ER Case Management (90% of the role): Manage the end-to-end process for minor, moderate, and complex cases.
Performance & Terminations: Lead investigations, manage performance reviews, and handle employee terminations with a focus on mitigating risk and ensuring compliance with Fair Work standards.
Leadership Advisory: Build strong relationships with warehouse leaders, providing real-time recommendations and coaching on policy interpretation and Award compliance.
Cyclical Initiatives: Assist with engagement surveys, remuneration reviews, and organisational design.
Data & Reporting: Use Workday to analyse HR metrics, providing insights on retention, culture, and P&C projects.
Safety & Payroll Collaboration: Work closely with WHS on injury management and coordinate with Workforce Planning to ensure roster and payroll compliance.
About You
To be successful in this role, you must be comfortable working in a rugged, fast-paced warehouse setting. You aren't afraid of difficult conversations and can maintain a fair, consistent approach under pressure.
What you’ll bring:
Proven ER Experience: Demonstrated success in managing complex investigations and employee relations matters.
Industry Background: Experience in retail, logistics, or manufacturing (blue-collar environments) is highly regarded.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of Fair Work legislation, National Employment Standards (NES), and Modern Awards.
Systems Savvy: Proficiency in HRIS systems (ideally Workday).
Communication: The ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, from floor staff to senior management.
