What You’ll Do:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Take ownership of preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the group (I&E's, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow Statements) and complete essential month-end reconciliations. You'll also conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Confidently collaborate with establishment managers and various stakeholders, offering valuable financial insights, guidance on finance procedures, and supporting strategic initiatives.
- Budgeting & Forecasting Support: Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Compliance & Audit Coordination: Ensure timely completion of statutory returns (e.g., BAS, Bureau of Statistics, Grant acquittals) and effectively liaise with internal and external auditors to manage the audit process.
- System & Process Improvement: Actively identify and implement improvements to our financial systems
- Grant & Property Accounting: Oversee the grant acquittal process, including reporting to grant providers, and manage the financial aspects of the group’s property portfolio, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Staff Training & Development: Provide training and support to finance staff as directed, contributing to the development of our team.
What You’ll Bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting.
- Demonstrated experience as a Financial Accountant
- A strong understanding of the end-to-end accounting cycle.
- Excellent financial management skills, with proven experience in preparing, analysing, and reporting complex financial information.
- Proactive and outcomes-focused approach, with the initiative to identify and implement business process improvements.
- Exceptional communication and engagement skills, comfortable working with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a positive team environment.
- CA/CPA (highly regarded)
