We are seeking a high-caliber Functional Consultant to act as a subject matter expert within our Master Planning and Optimisation (MPO) stream. In this pivotal role, you will bridge the gap between complex business needs and technical execution, driving the design and configuration of solutions that underpin critical operations within a secure Australian Government context.
Core Responsibilities
- Solution Architecture: Lead the end-to-end functional design process, transforming high-level business goals into precise system configurations and specifications.
- Strategic Advisory: Act as a trusted advisor on business process optimisation, ensuring all functional controls align with industry best practices and organisational objectives.
- Stakeholder Leadership: Facilitate high-impact workshops and manage relationships with senior leadership to guide informed decision-making.
- Quality Assurance: Direct the full testing lifecycle, from designing complex scenarios to validating final system acceptance and resolving functional defects.
- Knowledge Management: Author comprehensive functional documentation, operational guides, and training assets to ensure long-term project sustainability.
- Project Lifecycle Support: Drive business readiness, cutover strategies, and post-go-live support to ensure seamless transitions.
- Collaborative Integration: Partner closely with technical architects to ensure functional designs are feasible and integrated.
- Compliance & Mentorship: Maintain strict adherence to Commonwealth security and audit standards while coaching junior team members to uplift overall capability.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Domain Expertise: Extensive background as a Functional Consultant specifically within MPO or a comparable enterprise-scale domain.
- Government Literacy: A deep understanding of Commonwealth frameworks, reporting protocols, and the nuances of working within secure environments.
- Analytical Rigor: Proven ability to troubleshoot intricate functional challenges and deliver outcomes in high-pressure, multidisciplinary settings.
- Clear Communication: Exceptional skills in documentation and verbal storytelling, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Autonomy: A self-starter capable of managing shifting priorities with minimal supervision.
Security Requirements
- Mandatory: Australian Citizenship with a current AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance.
- Highly Regarded: An active NV1 Clearance is preferred.
Preferred Attributes
- History of contributing to large-scale Australian Government transformation initiatives.
- Familiarity with sophisticated workflow tools, integrated ERP systems, or advanced optimisation platforms.
