Randstad Senior Finance is excited to be partnering with a successful and established US-owned company based in Melbourne's Tullamarine. Our client is a leader in their field and is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join their Finance Team.
This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a hands-on accountant who is also a proven leader. This position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and holds significant responsibility, including the management of a diverse finance team.
Your New RoleAs the Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the entire month-end process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to the US parent company. You will plan, review, and administer accounting systems and procedures, provide key insights into cost performance , and manage a team of direct reports.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Staff Management: Leading and reviewing the workflow for a team of eight, including two Assistant Accountants, three Purchasing Coordinators, an Accounts Payable Officer, a Credit Controller, and a Receptionist. 
- Month-End/Year-End Close: Driving the end-of-month process, with a target completion of the 5th working day. This includes reviewing all GL reconciliations, sales and COGS matching, and posting all balance sheet journals. 
- Statutory Compliance: Preparation and lodgement of BAS for multiple companies , as well as FBT , Payroll Tax , and Co-Invest lodgements. 
- Reporting & Forecasting: Preparing and reviewing all daily, weekly, and monthly management reports, including inventory, investigating any anomalies. You will also prepare monthly/quarterly forecasts and yearly budgets for US reporting requirements. 
- Cash Flow & Assets: Preparing weekly cash flow analysis , managing the fixed asset schedule and depreciation , and overseeing biannual van stocktakes. 
- Payroll: Reviewing the fortnightly payroll, reports, and reconciliations. 
To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified and experienced leader with exceptional technical skills. You will have:
- An Accounting Body Qualification (CA/CPA or equivalent). 
- Proven experience in a broad financial accounting role, covering AP, AR, GL reconciliations, BAS, fixed assets, and management reporting. 
- Demonstrated experience in staff management is essential for this role. 
- Strong planning, time management, and organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail. 
- The resilience and ability to work under pressure to meet tight corporate deadlines. 
- Intermediate skills in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
