Are you a hands-on problem-solver with a knack for machinery and a love for the open road? Our client is looking for a Field Technician for a 3-month contract to join their team in the Murray Bridge area. You'll be responsible for maintaining vital infrastructure and ensuring smooth operations across various sites.
What you'll be doing:
Asset Inspections: You'll be driving a ute to conduct routine inspections of pipelines, pump stations, and other essential assets. Be prepared for a fair amount of driving, with 200-500kms per week being common.
Grounds Maintenance: Operating large ride-on mowers and whipper snippers to keep our sites tidy and accessible.
Weed Management: Assisting an experienced operator with weed spraying tasks.
Drive a ute: Driving a ute or even trucks if you have the right tickets
Plant Operation: Operating excavators and skid steers for maintenance and project work.
Shutdown Assistance: Supporting critical shutdowns on SA Water infrastructure, including various day isolations and some planned 2-3 day isolations over the coming months. Please note that overnight stays will be required for longer shutdowns, with accommodation and allowances provided.
What we're looking for:
Proven experience in a field-based role, ideally within infrastructure or utilities.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in operating ride-on mowers and whipper snippers.
Valid C Class licence - HC or HR would be advantageous
Experience operating excavators and skid steers.
A commitment to safety and a willingness to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to travel and stay overnight as required for shutdown activities.
