Randstad Defence is looking for a Field services engineer to work on technical support and troubleshooting for avionics
systems, radio communications, and defence-related equipment for government contracts.
The candidate must be an Australian citizen and already have or willing to obtain a NV1 security clearance and be eligible for ITAR assesment.
About the Role
- Technical Support: Provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting for avionics systems, radio communications, and defence-related equipment for government contracts.
- V&V Activities: Support testing activities within the program as required & liaise with key stakeholders to ensure that planned testing meet their requirements.
- Work collaboratively with the Technical and System Engineering Teams to establish testing/V&V priorities and ensure a joined-up approach for the System Integrator.
- Customer Interaction: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, providing solutions, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Project Management: Manage and coordinate project activities, including equipment installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance, adhering to project timelines and requirements.
- Training and Knowledge Transfer: Conduct training sessions for end-users and customer personnel to ensure proficiency in operating and maintaining equipment according to specified standards.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of project activities, including technical documentation, service reports, and project updates. Provide regular progress reports to stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency enhancements, and cost-saving measures within project activities.
...About You
- Completion of a Certificate IV or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in field service engineering, preferably in the defence industry.
- Thorough knowledge of avionics systems, radio communications, and related technologies, including HF – VHF – UHF, Tactical Radio Systems, ARC-210, HF-9500, and military GPS systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills, capable of effectively communicating technical concepts to diverse audiences, including clients and internal stakeholders.
- Experience with project management methodologies and tools, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for project assignments.
