About your new role
The Executive Officer is chiefly responsible for managing the Office itself, including leading a small team of two, and overseeing the end-to-end management of complex, sensitive, and high-risk student matters referred from senior university offices. Key accountabilities include conducting National Student Ombudsman (NSO) complaint investigations, negotiating remediation plans, drafting high-calibre responses to statutory and ombudsman information requests, and building strategic relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to meet operational and governance objectives.
A working with children check (employee) is required for this position.
What you will need to exceed
You must demonstrate Executive-Level Mastery in case resolution, moving beyond competence to handle the most sensitive and escalated student matters with authority and successful closure.
Crucially, you will need Expert Regulatory Acumen, consistently delivering accurate and defensible responses to statutory and ombudsman information requests, backed by flawless policy application.
Success also hinges on your ability to serve as a Strategic Advisor to senior leadership and act as a High-Impact Leader who drives continuous improvement and a culture of service excellence within your team
