We are seeking a highly experienced ERP SAP S/4HANA Payroll Technical Analyst to support the S/4HANA Payroll stream of work on the "Services for Brisbane Modern ERP Program". This pivotal role involves supporting the design, build, and deployment of the solution through the utilisation of SAP Activate Methodology. You will be responsible for identifying and analysing all aspects of the S/4HANA HR/Payroll process, functional, data migration, and integration scope, supporting the overall deployment of the solution.
The ideal candidate will be a strong project-minded individual with extensive experience in large HR/Payroll migration and transformation projects. Strong customer-facing skills and a robust understanding of Service Delivery are essential. This is a goal and outcome-driven position.
Key Accountabilities:Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and define payroll system requirements.
Analyze and document payroll business processes, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency.
Assess, document, and streamline Payroll workflows to identify inefficiencies and drive improvements.
Enhance payroll systems and processes for efficiency and strategic alignment.
Assist in designing payroll workflows and ensuring compliance with Australian payroll regulations.
Work with technical teams to validate payroll data migration and integration with other systems.
Review and validate the Solution Integrator's (SI) functional designs, configuration (schemas, PCRs, wage types), and integration logic.
Identify gaps or risks in proposed solutions and challenge deviations from current-state payroll behaviour.
Support the testing and deployment of payroll systems by supporting test cases, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and issue resolution during implementation.
Provide training and documentation for payroll teams and end-users.
Support parallel payroll runs and post-go-live stabilization efforts.
Act as a bridge between payroll operations, HR, finance, and technical teams to ensure a smooth implementation.
Exceptional stakeholder engagement, influencing, and management skills – understanding how others think and act – with the ability to smoothly deliver outcomes through strong business, team, and supplier partnerships, and self-management of workload and deadlines.
Mandatory Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years’ SAP experience with a high level of proficiency in payroll processes and configuration of ECC (SAP modules PY, PT, CATS, ESS and MSS) and a good working understanding of its integration points within other modules of SAP.
A strong understanding of Payroll processes, payroll outsourcing, and system integrations is essential.
Able to translate business needs into functional requirements and user stories.
Substantial experience in working with stakeholders to deliver a system design for exceptional internal and external end-user experience.
Demonstrated strategic and operational delivery skills directed at meeting or exceeding customer expectations and optimising business outcomes.
Proven ability to maintain a clear focus on customer business objectives, to understand the customer’s strategic goals and translate these into credible outcomes for all stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience in successfully engaging with vendors and working collaboratively with key client stakeholders/representatives and internal ICT support and operational personnel.
Desirable Requirements:
Experience in supporting large-scale technical programs in Federal, State or Local Government.
Experience in large multi-release program operations.
HR/Payroll operational experience or HR/Payroll application support.
