We're partnering with a prominent Brisbane-based organisation to find an ERP Principal Specialist – People Services for a 12-month contract.
This is a unique opportunity to lead end-to-end functional capabilities within their Corporate Shared Services Domain, specifically focusing on Payroll, Human Resources, and Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) Business Functions. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping their SAP landscape, including SAP SuccessFactors, S4 Payroll, ECC6 HR, and ECC6 Payroll Systems.
What You'll Be Doing:
As the ERP Principal Specialist, you'll be accountable for the vision, strategy, and functional delivery of initiatives across all People Service Applications. This will involve:
Developing functional strategies and roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
Scoping new initiatives and providing expert internal consulting advice to business and ISB stakeholders, leveraging SAP capabilities and best practices.
Managing functional, reporting, and integration solutions, alongside data conversion requirements and design.
Defining and accepting solution testing scope, scripts, and results, and ensuring smooth service transition to support.
Managing critical touch points between HR/Payroll & EH&S systems and other corporate shared service areas (e.g., Finance, Asset Management).
Leading and mentoring a functional consulting team, ensuring they have the right skills for projects and business-as-usual change initiatives.
Providing strategic guidance, solution assurance, and business partnership to the S4/Hana Project (Services for Brisbane Modern ERP Project).
What You'll Bring:
To succeed in this role, you'll need to demonstrate significant experience and expertise in the following areas:
Significant experience working in SAP ECC, SuccessFactors, and S/4HANA environments in SAP functional consulting and/or SAP solution architecture.
Proven track record of successfully managing SAP functional teams, including the implementation of industry frameworks (e.g., SAP Activate) and functional analysis and configuration services within a complex organisation.
Extensive experience in end-to-end SAP project implementations in a process-driven environment, acting in a functional lead capacity.
Specialist expertise in SAP HCM sub-modules such as Payroll, Time Management, Personnel Administration, Organisational Management, People Analytics/MSS, and SAP SuccessFactors. A detailed knowledge of employee lifecycle and payroll processes is essential.
Demonstrated specialist experience in Master Data Governance, including Data Ownership, Data Standards, Data Quality, Data Lifecycle Management, Data Governance Policies, Data Stewardship, Data Integration, Data Security, and Data Auditing.
Exceptional stakeholder engagement, influencing, and management skills, with the ability to smoothly deliver outcomes through strong business, team, and supplier partnerships.
Mandatory Requirements:
Tertiary qualification in a relevant or related discipline.
SAP certification in relevant SAP modules.

Assignment Duration: 12 months
Work Hours: 5 x 8 hour days / max 40 hour week (as per relevant Award)
Location: Brisbane Square, 266 George Street, Brisbane, Qld 4000
Band Level/Classification Equivalent: Band 8 (Refer to relevant Council Award for details)
