About the Programme
This organisation is undertaking a multi-year, multi-stream Modern ERP Programme focused on delivering a cutting-edge SAP S/4HANA solution. The programme's objectives are centred around improving efficiency, enhancing service delivery, simplifying user experience, and providing a robust platform for future growth. You'll be part of a team dedicated to aligning processes with proven ERP templates, leveraging cloud-based solutions, and driving significant organisational change.
The Opportunity
We're seeking an ERP SAP S/4HANA Payroll Technical Analyst for a 16-month contract, commencing around 18th August 2025, and concluding 18th December 2026. This role is Brisbane-based and will be performed onsite at their modern offices in the Brisbane CBD (Level 18, 266 George Street, Brisbane QLD 4000), working approximately 40 hours per week.
Your Purpose & Key Deliverables
As a key member of the Business Readiness stream, you'll play a crucial role in supporting the design, build, and deployment of the ERP S/4HANA Payroll solution, utilising the SAP Activate Methodology. Your primary focus will be on identifying and analysing all aspects of the S/4HANA Payroll process, functional scope, data migration, and integration.
Key Accountabilities
Support the overall deployment of the S/4HANA Payroll solution.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and define payroll system requirements.
Analyse and document payroll business processes, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency.
Assess, document, and streamline payroll workflows to identify inefficiencies and drive improvements.
Assist in designing payroll workflows and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Work with technical teams to validate payroll data migration and integration with other systems.
Support the testing and deployment of the payroll system by supporting test cases, UAT, and issue resolution during implementation.
Provide training and documentation for payroll teams and end-users.
Exhibit exceptional stakeholder engagement, influencing, and management skills.
Provide SAP Payroll expertise in payroll processes and core payroll modules.
Promote adoption of standard SAP in all interactions within the programme.
Follow up and drive to resolution assigned tasks from workshops where required.
Interact and represent Payroll in cross-value stream integrated processes.
What You'll Bring
Demonstrated experience supporting change impact assessments for large-scale ERP programmes in a Corporate Payroll or HR context.
Proven ability in stakeholder engagement and management, particularly across Payroll, HR, and IT functions in complex, matrixed organisations.
Solid understanding of core payroll processes.
Strong capability in benefits and outcomes traceability, linking business objectives through process change to detailed functional and non-functional requirements.
Demonstrated experience facilitating workshops, impact analysis, and process mapping across multiple stakeholder groups.
Comfortable translating technical and functional designs into business impact narratives and supporting change communication strategies.
Demonstrated strategic and operational delivery skills, with a strong customer focus.
Demonstrated experience in successfully engaging with vendors and working collaboratively with key client stakeholders/representatives and internal ICT support and operational personnel.
Desired Skills & Experience
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
Experience in working with virtual (and shared) teams.
Highly organised with a strong delivery focus.
Strong emotional intelligence.
Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology and/or a certification in Business Analysis (CBAP, CCBA) are advantageous.
Experience modelling processes in BPMN, with Signavio experience.
Experience in supporting large-scale technical programmes in Federal, State, or Local Government.
Experience in large multi-release programme operations.
Payroll operational experience or Payroll application support.
