You will display a sound knowledge and understanding of Australian Standards that apply to fabrication and safety of mechanical and structural steel products.

Schedule and complete drawing work to ensure drawings for longest lead manufacture items are completed first.

Communication and Reporting.
Assist in developing communication collateral such as white papers and case studies that keeps capability and capacity front of mind for our customers.
Complete quality, safety and other documentation as the situation requires.
Review and maintain the integrity and buildability of detailed assembly, sub-assembly, and shop drawings for manufacture.
Process and control drawing changes according to customer requirements, red line fabrication mark ups as directed.
Abide by our workplace policies and procedures while also contributing to the continued improvement these rules.
Uphold a high standard of integrity, report non-conformities, errors and workplace hazards or incidents immediately.
Collaboration.
Collaboratively lead the design review process as an essential step in ensuring products meet customer expectations every time.
Participate in internal meetings such as toolbox, stand up and staff meetings as required.
Collaborate and build relationships with colleagues, customers, and suppliers.
Carry out research with suppliers to determine suitable purchased components for our products.
Make decisions that optimise the use of our resources including drafting suppliers, raw materials, personnel, and equipment.
Get involved holistically with projects and perform other duties as directed and trained to do.
What You Need to do This Job
You need to accept the following core responsibilities.
Customer liaison.
Familiarisation of customer requirements and fulfilment of design scope.
Design, development, modelling and detailing.
Delegation to and supervision of less experienced engineers and designers.
Taking direction from management and input from workshop leaders.
You need to verify that you have the following to do this job.
A formal tertiary qualification in mechanical engineering for material handling or similar as well as a minimum of four years’ vocational experience.
A nascent ability to supervise a team and a desire to continuously improve your leadership skills.
A thorough knowledge of computer aided design systems and proficiency in the use of Autodesk Inventor.
Proven creative flair and problem-solving ability.
Time management and collaboration skills.
Ability to manage projects through to site installation and commissioning.
Industry credibility and a history of success in design and manufacture.
Organisation skills and a work rate that ensures you meet deadlines.
Demonstrated skills in dealing with questions, challenges and the pragmatic hands-on resolution of problems arising through the fabrication and commissioning stages.
Willingness to travel to customer sites and successfully participate in the installation and commissioning phases.

Experience with design and fabrication of stand-alone material handling equipment, elevators, chute work, conveyors, and basic structural steelwork.

Ability to analyse project, fabrication, and product data to continually improve design and product performance.
