An exciting opportunity exists for a dynamic and strategic communications leader to drive impactful media and communications initiatives at the commonwealth level in the health sector.
As the Assistant Director, Media and Communications, you will play a pivotal role in shaping public understanding and engagement around cancer and promoting the organisation as a credible, trusted voice in cancer control and prevention.
Key Responsibilities:
... Lead the development and execution of innovative, evidence-based communication strategies to effectively engage community and clinical audiences.
Strengthen and protect the organisation’s public reputation by ensuring alignment with national health policy and strategic priorities.
Provide high-level communications advice to executive leadership on emerging health issues and national awareness campaigns.
Cultivate relationships with key government stakeholders, including departmental and ministerial media advisors, ensuring messaging is relevant and timely.
Develop and implement strategic media campaigns, driving audience engagement across digital platforms and measuring performance against key benchmarks.
Produce a range of high-quality written materials, including media releases, executive speeches, and public health messaging tailored for diverse audiences.
Monitor media trends and policy developments, offering timely briefings and strategic insights to senior leadership.
Build and maintain a strong network of media contacts to enhance national media coverage and visibility.
Coordinate media engagement activities, including interviews and briefings for designated spokespeople.
Manage team resources and budgets, ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures
Pre-requisite
- Australian Citizenship
- Baseline security clearance is advantageous
