Duties

1. Facilitate the design of new or modified structures and systems by obtaining site information such as existing documents and drawings, site dimensions and details, relevant drawings and compiling project information.
2. Assist with the development of conceptual designs, undertake preliminary calculations and checks and provide conceptual and functional designs to consultants to undertake engineering design and specification.
3. Produce documents for tender or construction, including functional brief and client requirements.
4. Assist with the development of technical documentation for procurement of design consultants, construction contractors and supporting services.
5. Respond to requests for information and coordinate inputs from external service providers.

Essential requirements

• Relevant qualification and/or considerable work experience that includes a significant component of drafting (town planning, landscape, architecture, engineering, technical design);
• Advanced competency in Computer Aided Drafting software AutoCAD and/or Revit;
• Significant knowledge of the Building Code of Australia along with other relevant Australian building standards and planning codes (or Development Approvals)
• Intermediate computer literacy in MS Office suite, including PowerPoint, Outlook, Word and Excel;
• Five years’ minimum experience in a similar role.
• AutoCAD qualification design Architectural (structural and mechanical also desirable)
• Ability to produce accurate high-quality work and ability to work unsupervised

Desirable qualifications or experience

• Professional engineering experience.
• Project or construction management experience
