Duties
- Facilitate the design of new or modified structures and systems by obtaining site information such as existing documents and drawings, site dimensions and details, relevant drawings and compiling project information.
- Assist with the development of conceptual designs, undertake preliminary calculations and checks and provide conceptual and functional designs to consultants to undertake engineering design and specification.
- Produce documents for tender or construction, including functional brief and client requirements.
- Assist with the development of technical documentation for procurement of design consultants, construction contractors and supporting services.
- Respond to requests for information and coordinate inputs from external service providers.
Essential requirements
- Relevant qualification and/or considerable work experience that includes a significant component of drafting (town planning, landscape, architecture, engineering, technical design);
- Advanced competency in Computer Aided Drafting software AutoCAD and/or Revit;
- Significant knowledge of the Building Code of Australia along with other relevant Australian building standards and planning codes (or Development Approvals)
- Intermediate computer literacy in MS Office suite, including PowerPoint, Outlook, Word and Excel;
- Five years’ minimum experience in a similar role.
- AutoCAD qualification design Architectural (structural and mechanical also desirable)
- Ability to produce accurate high-quality work and ability to work unsupervised
Desirable qualifications or experience
- Professional engineering experience.
- Project or construction management experience
