Deployment Manager – SAP Programs

A consulting business is seeking an experienced Deployment Manager to lead the end-to-end deployment of SAP HANA solutions across complex enterprise and government environments. This role requires strong coordination across technical teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure secure, high-quality deployments aligned with governance frameworks.
The role is open to candidates based in Sydney, Melbourne, or Canberra, with an expectation to work onsite in the closest office 2–3 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
Lead planning, coordination, and execution of SAP HANA deployments across multiple environments
Coordinate technical workstreams, vendors, migration teams, infrastructure, and business stakeholders
Develop and maintain deployment plans, cutover strategies, schedules, and resource forecasts
Ensure deployments meet security, quality, and compliance requirements aligned to government standards
Manage governance, reporting, milestones, and delivery artefacts across the deployment lifecycle
Identify and manage deployment risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating where required
Facilitate readiness assessments, go/no-go decisions, and post-deployment reviews
Maintain strong stakeholder engagement and communication across senior leaders and delivery teams
Coordinate defect remediation, environment validation, and post-deployment stabilisation
Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, operations, and long-term support models
Skills and Experience
Demonstrated experience leading large-scale SAP deployments, ideally SAP HANA programs
Proven capability managing complex cutovers, migrations, and multi-stage releases
Strong understanding of SAP landscapes, environments, integrations, and release processes
Experience working within Australian Government or highly regulated delivery environments
Strong stakeholder, vendor, and communication management skills
Excellent problem-solving capability in high-pressure deployment windows
Proven experience managing risks, issues, and dependencies across complex programs
Qualifications
Tertiary qualification in IT, Project Management, or a related discipline
Project management certification (PRINCE2, PMP, Agile) is desirable
Security Requirements
Australian Citizenship is required
Baseline Security Clearance is mandatory
NV1 clearance is highly regarded
