Data Engineer | 12-Month Contract

A fantastic 12-month contract opportunity is available for a highly skilled Data Engineer to join the Business Intelligence and Analytics team at Brisbane City Council. This role is perfect for a self-motivated professional with a passion for delivering solutions that enable data-driven insights.
You will play a critical role in the full project lifecycle, from understanding business needs to developing and implementing robust solutions. Key responsibilities include creating ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Synapse Analytics, building semantic models and reports with Power BI, and maintaining source code using Azure DevOps. You'll also be a key collaborator within a supportive team environment.
What you'll bring to the table:
Deep Azure Expertise: Over 5 years' experience with Microsoft SQL databases and Azure Synapse Analytics is a must.
Comprehensive Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of SQL, Power BI, and DAX, plus a working knowledge of Python, JSON, and KQL.
Data Warehouse Experience: Proven experience with large, complex Data Warehouses in a cloud-based environment.
Agile Mindset: A strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies.
