About the Role
As a Data Architect, you'll be instrumental in shaping our client's data platform, ensuring their architecture aligns with their principles and requirements. Reporting to the Senior Enterprise Architect, you will:
Define and Govern: Be responsible for defining the architecture of the data platform and translating enterprise standards into practical, project-specific data architectures.
Collaborate and Advise: Work closely with solution and security architects, the Technology Leadership Team, and various business unit heads to integrate data into architectural decisions from conception through delivery. You'll also provide data architecture expertise and technical guidance across diverse technology solutions.
Innovate and Propose: Identify and propose appropriate data architecture options for governance when enterprise standards can't be fully applied.
Ensure Operational Readiness: Design solutions with "day 2 operations" in mind, including monitoring and incident response, and create comprehensive architecture documentation and handover materials for operational teams.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for a candidate with a strong foundation and deep technical expertise:
Experience:
8+ years of experience in IT roles, with at least 3 years in data architecture.
Proven experience in enterprise data architecture, especially within retail, healthcare, or regulated industries.
- Experience designing data platforms for multi-brand organisations.
Skills & Expertise:
Expertise in data modelling, ETL processes, and data governance frameworks.
Experience with Data Platforms, Streaming & Integration, Orchestration & Processing, Security & Privacy, and Analytics & ML.
Familiarity with core technologies like Snowflake, BigQuery, and Power BI.
Qualifications: Relevant certifications such as TOGAF or SAFE are preferred.
You will be joining a team that values collaboration, guidance, and continuous improvement, where your work directly impacts our architecture frameworks and operational success. Your internal stakeholders will range from the Technology Leadership Team and Architecture Team to the Heads of Business Units, and you will also engage with external partners like software vendors and cloud service providers.
