Technical officer Required for Government agency in Townsville, this role would suit a Construction Trade or Works officer person looking to get off the tools and work in a more technical advisory role.

Duties include:

• Contract administration covering a range of preventativemaintenance services
• Supervision of contractors and trade staff
• Technical knowledge and good understanding of building services
• Competent in the use of excel, word and outlook
• Participate in and facilitate WHS audits, undertake on-site WHS
• inspections including plant and equipment checks
• Good understanding of procurement and work order management processes
• Good understanding of technical specifications and service frequencies

About you:

• Trade qualification (mandatory)
• Intermediate level of MS Excel skills including being able to create spreadsheets to monitor construction tenders
• Experience in tendering and costing for the construction industry
• Demonstrated ability to communicate well with customers and in-house staff both written and verbal
