... About the Role
Join a dynamic team at the forefront of energy infrastructure as a Commissioning Engineer. Based out of Brisbane and operating on a 12:9 FIFO/DIDO roster, this role will see you leading the commissioning of complex power generation systems across a range of cutting-edge EPC projects.
You will be responsible for ensuring the successful testing, commissioning, and integration of HV electrical systems, gas energy systems, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) into new and existing power generation facilities. This role plays a pivotal part in delivering projects safely, efficiently, and to specification.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of commissioning procedures, quality assurance plans, ITPs/ITRs, and technical documentation.
- Lead the testing, validation, and commissioning of electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
- Oversee compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards across site-based operations.
- Direct involvement in site commissioning, FAT, SAT, and systems validation—ensuring design alignment and operational readiness.
- Coordinate technical workflows and contribute to the preparation of completion and client handover packages.
- Manage technical queries and design modifications during commissioning, maintaining timelines and regulatory compliance.
- Provide expertise in HV systems, switching operations, hazardous areas, and power system engineering.
- Integrate and validate control systems, including SCADA, relays, and protection devices.
- Resolve on-site issues, manage interface between mechanical and electrical disciplines, and maintain documentation throughout.
Skills & Experience
- Electrical Trade Certificate or Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Strong experience in power generation, oil & gas, or mining projects.
- Demonstrated success in commissioning roles, including both electrical and mechanical systems.
- Proven background in HV electrical systems, BESS, and gas system integration.
- Familiarity with hazardous area compliance, SCADA systems, and power plant control infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of Workplace Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) practices.
- Competent in MS Office, PDF editors, and CCMS (Central Control and Monitoring System) – desirable.
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Full working rights in Australia.
