Randstad Defence is currently partnering with one of Australia’s leading defence organisations to secure exceptional talent for one of South Australia’s key projects in maritime construction & manufacturing. We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager for a 6 month contract working full time hours in a growing team.
... Based in Adelaide this role is responsible for managing contractual compliance and commercial relationships within this specific maritime Build Program. The successful candidate will have strong experience in contracts management, stakeholder engagement, and governance. Key responsibilities include managing commercial agreements, supporting contract negotiations, and mentoring junior commercial staff.
As a Commercial Manager you will:
- Manage the contractual compliance aspects of allocated contracts and commercial relationships in support of the Build Program and related agreements.
- Ensure contractual and commercial outcomes are met through the application of sound commercial practices
- Be accountable for developing processes, procedures and tools as well as documenting, implementing and managing Commercial Agreements in accordance with the Contract and SOW (CDRLs).
- Support other commercial managers and commercial advisors in the development, review and implementation and recording of contract compliance, correspondence and contract changes
- Develop, mentor and grow contracts administration capability within the commercial team
About You:
- Must be an Australian citizen to be able to hold and maintain and Australian NV1
- Tertiary qualifications in Law, Business Management, Commerce, Procurement or related discipline.
- A minimum of 8-10 years post graduate experience in a commercial, legal or business advisory role
- Significant experience in managing and developing complex contracts including resolution of highly complex issues to achieve a positive commercially focused outcome
- Extensive experience in drafting agreements, managing commercial risk, and record keeping.
- Autonomous, goal directed and capable of managing multiple priorities with limited direction
- Proficient in both written and verbal communication and possess excellent negotiation and persuasion skills
- Capable of building strong business relationships
