Our client is seeking a dedicated Cloud Engineer to join the Enterprise Transformation Division, based in the Geelong head office. This role offers a competitive starting base salary of $128,677 plus super and benefits, and it is a full-time, fixed-term role for 12 months. Flexible hybrid working arragement, with 3 office attendance required per week.
About the Role
As the Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for the hands-on implementation and configuration of Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure to support our client's Microsoft Program. You will play a pivotal role in tenancy separation, cloud migration, and infrastructure uplift initiatives. You will build and automate secure, scalable, and compliant cloud environments, working closely with the Microsoft Technical Lead, Architects, and other project teams.
Key Role Accountabilities include:
- Implementing Azure cloud infrastructure, including virtual networks, compute resources, storage, and identity services
- Developing and maintaining Infrastructure-as-Code templates, primarily using Terraform, to ensure consistent and automated provisioning
- Automating configuration and deployment processes using PowerShell, Azure CLI, and Azure DevOps pipelines
- Managing cloud identity and access settings through Microsoft Entra ID, including RBAC implementation and conditional access policies
- Configuring and monitoring Azure security services such as Microsoft Defender, Azure Policy, and Sentinel
- Supporting migration planning and execution activities, including system validation and testing
What we're looking for
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields, or significant relevant industry experience (5+ years).
- Demonstrated experience delivering Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure within large-scale or enterprise environments.
- Strong proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools, particularly Terraform, and related scripting tools such as PowerShell and Azure CLI.
- Experience configuring Azure services including networking, virtual machines, storage, databases, identity, and security tooling.
- Experience managing cloud identity and device environments using Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft Intune.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering secure and compliant cloud environments aligned to enterprise or government policies.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
