About Our Client
Our Client is a locally owned civil construction company that focuses on reliability and professionalism in delivering excavation, drainage, and civil infrastructure solutions throughout Southern Tasmania.
With a mixture of both field and office-based duties, the Civil Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a range of civil construction and earthmoving projects. This is a key role supporting project profitability and client partnerships to ensure practical and efficient solutions are delivered.
What You'll Bring to the role
... - Proven experience as an Estimator in civil construction, earthmoving, or related fields
- Strong understanding of civil construction methods, materials, and equipment
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications specific to projects
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel (essential)
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
- A practical, hands-on mindset with an understanding of earthmoving operation
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar (desirable)
- Experience in Tasmanian local government and private sector tendering
