About the Role
The Business Analyst will play an important role in the planning, organisation, execution, and reporting of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. By acting as a bridge between functional stakeholders, data, and technology, the Business Analyst ensures that organisational goals are met through data-driven insights and the development and maintenance of suitable solutions. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment and is happiest when rolling up their sleeves to support a wide range of functional areas. Success is a team sport at Brisbane 2032, and the ideal candidate will be a proven team player who consistently demonstrates excellent stakeholder management skills.
The Business Analyst will also play a key role in developing and implementing new systems, dashboards, and technologies to inform operational decisions. This role will contribute to the development of a broad range of strategies and plans to enhance Games delivery and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements, process steps, and optimisation opportunities.
- Conduct the definition, development and implementation of new systems and tools while effectively liaising between technical, corporate services, and operational functions.
- Conduct thorough business and data analysis to generate insights, trends, performance metrics, improvement recommendations, and business cases.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation, to resolve issues and ensure timely delivery of milestones.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management and functional stakeholders.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, information technology, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience as a business analyst, preferably within a large-scale event, professional services consultancy, or project management environment.
- Strong analytical, data visualisation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills, with a track record of managing multiple projects, tasks, priorities, and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Proficiency in business analysis tools and software, such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI (essential), and Smartsheet (highly desirable).
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
- Certification in business analysis (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA) and/or membership in professional organisations such as the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) is a plus.
