Bookkeeper | ASO6 | Adelaide CBD | Long-Term Contract (with potential for permanency) | Public Sector
Are you an experienced, self-sufficient bookkeeper ready to become the financial cornerstone of a vital public sector team?
An opportunity has become available within a respected SA Government organisation for a dedicated ASO6 Bookkeeper to take full ownership of their financial operations. In this stand-alone role, you will be the trusted expert, providing critical support and ensuring the fiscal integrity of an organisation dedicated to serving the South Australian community.
This is a stable, long-term position in the heart of the Adelaide CBD, offering a professional and supportive environment with a strong potential for permanency.
Your Key Responsibilities:
As the sole bookkeeper, you will manage the end-to-end financial function with a high degree of autonomy. Your duties will include:
BAS & Tax Compliance: Managing all aspects of BAS and IAS preparation and lodgement, ensuring full ATO compliance.
Accounts Payable & Receivable: Overseeing the complete AP/AR functions, from creditor payments and invoicing to reconciliations and query resolution.
Payroll: Processing timely and accurate payroll, handling all related compliance, superannuation, and employee enquiries.
Government Reporting: Preparing and delivering essential government compliance reports, ensuring adherence to public sector financial frameworks and Treasury guidelines.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
Proven experience as a stand-alone Bookkeeper, comfortable managing the full finance function.
Demonstrated expertise in BAS, end-to-end payroll, and accounts payable/receivable.
Experience within the public sector is highly desirable, particularly within SA Government.
A high level of initiative, exceptional organisational skills, and a meticulous eye for detail.
The ability to work independently while communicating effectively with the wider team.
