Your New Company/Role:
As a well established organisation, my client is looking for an experienced Assistant Accountant on a part-time basis (3 or 4 days per week) to join their team on a temporary basis based in Rydalmere 2116 NSW. This is a cover role for 2 months and subject to extension. The ideal candidate must have exposure across travel & expense reimbursement and must have some local work experience.
About the Opportunity / Responsibilities:
Reporting to a nurturing Head of Finance; you are responsible for
- Provides a monthly credit card summary by staff member for processing into the general ledger. Collects and files credit card statements and receipts.
- Provides a monthly travel report using the monthly credit card summary and direct AP and GL processing. The travel report compares expenses to budget by staff member and reviews variances.
- Reconciles GL control accounts and Asset Register accounts working with the designated Manager for approved invoices as per our Intercompany Statement.
- Processing all invoices as per Intercompany invoices and statements once approved for processing and liaise with Group treasury for intercompany payment through current account.
- Processes intercompany transactions.
- Maintains the asset Register, processing additions, disposals and labelling new assets.
- Processes sales refunds in the ERP system.
- Maintains all insurance and registration for company vehicles and provides a monthly summary.
- Prepares periodic Travel forecasts, annual Travel budgets and ad-hoc financial analysis.
- Revises monthly exchange rate information in the ERP system.
- Supports all tax, audit, banks and leasing matters.
- Supports compliance with all legal and/or statutory requirements.
- Assist with any ad-hoc duties
Ideal Profile
This opportunity is for someone who has experience within the accounting duties and exposure in travel & expense reimbursements. You will also bring:
- Diploma or Bachelors in Accounting & Finance/equivalent qualification or equivalent work experience
- Prior experience in a similar role ( 2 years or more ) - large corporate environment would be highly advantageous
- Strong verbal and communication skills
- Exposure in SAGE 300 would be highly desirable but not mandatory
- Intermediate Excel proficiency
- Someone who is self motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
