KEY OUTCOMES OF THE ROLE:
- Coordinate and undertake the planning and delivery of a range of student communications and engagement functions and services with support the development and implementation of related strategies campaigns and events.
- Develop and deliver accessible, plain English content, and timely communications products for all student/stakeholder communication channels, as they relate to the Student Experience Directorate.
- Develop, implement and report on a suite of student engagement and campus activation events across the academic calendar.
- Research and develop written content and facilitate the development of high quality visual and video products, within an integrated content strategy across multiple platforms and channels.
- Monitor, analyse and report communication performance to identify successful strategies and activities, take corrective action where necessary, and make recommendations for future improvements and initiatives.
- Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships, including with student advisory groups, external partners, and suppliers, to ensure alignment across communication activities and compliance with the education provider and government policy.
- Provide expert advice and assistance to engagement activities across corporate and education directorates to ensure the alignment of activities and the timely delivery of information to students.
- Develop, implement and ensure adherence to communication and engagement governance practices, as they relate to the Student Experience Directorate.
- Coordinate the development of internal and external communication activities and products for the Student Experience team, including the education provider's Student Newsletter, Student Voice Forums, staff engagement activities, and presentations.
- Plan and undertake sensitive communications and engagement projects and initiatives which align with direction from Divisional Directors and Managers.
KEY RELATIONSHIPS / INTERACTIONS:
Significant interaction with a range of key stakeholders including:
- The Student Communications Lead
- Managers and staff across Student Experience Directorate
- Corporate and education business units
- Advisory groups
- External partners and suppliers
SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
- Out of hours work will be required.
- Some intra/interstate travel and overnight absences may be required.
- Incumbent will be required to participate in the department's Performance Development Program.
- Eligibility to work in Australia.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Essential - Demonstrated experience in the planning and delivery of communications, engagement and event management functions and services within an educational context including applying communications and branding guidelines and policies and developing and implementing communication strategies, evaluation methodologies and governance processes.
- Essential – Demonstrated experience coordinating and undertaking the production of high-quality communication products across multiple platforms and channels, including researching, analysing, evaluating, and implementing creative solutions, and delivering site activation events and/or customer engagement activities.
- Essential - Demonstrated knowledge of communication, engagement and event management principles, practices and systems within an educational context and of relevant government policy.
- Essential - Demonstrated knowledge of graphic design principles and practices for both digital and print media and products, and content development tools including the Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suites.
- Essential - High-level interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to effectively negotiate, present and articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely and to develop written content and communication products for diverse communication channels in a customer service environment.
