Events and Communications Officer
Adelaide, SA Full-time, 3-month contract
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Events and Communications Officer to play a key role in the planning and delivery of our strategic events program. This is an exciting opportunity to support our team in promoting the agency's work, engaging with stakeholders, and delivering high-quality events.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the planning, coordination, and delivery of a diverse range of events, from conferences and awards to community open days.
Contribute to the development and implementation of effective communications and marketing strategies for events.
Provide event management support, including logistical coordination and ensuring activities meet defined objectives and quality standards.
Manage stakeholder lists, build EDMs, write event copy, and schedule social media content.
Assist with managing event budgets and coordinate with a wide range of contractors and external suppliers.
Contribute to the development of event collateral, such as brochures and stand designs.
Work collaboratively with event organisers to ensure sponsorship obligations are met.
Coordinate and prepare briefings and correspondence to support the event program.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience in assisting with the delivery of successful events and projects.
Experience in creating high-quality marketing and communications material to promote events.
Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with internal stakeholders and external organisations.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a proven ability to consult and liaise effectively.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and coordinate concurrent projects to meet objectives and deadlines.
An understanding of marketing and communications outcomes as they relate to organisational goals.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, as well as experience with event management software (e.g., EventsAIR, Eventbrite), EDM platforms (e.g., MailChimp), and social media scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite).
Desirable
A tertiary qualification in Event Management, Communications, or Marketing would be highly regarded.
An understanding of South Australian public sector processes and government protocol.
