Ariba Solution Architect

In this role, you will play a critical part in reviewing and optimising current Source to Pay (S2P) processes, with a focus on user experience, compliance, integration architecture, and system functionality across Ariba and related platforms. Your deep knowledge of SAP Ariba modules—particularly Guided Buying, Supplier Management, Contract Lifecycle, and Invoicing—will be essential to driving improvements in efficiency, automation, and reporting.
Job/Project Description
Current State Review:
- Support the execution of a targeted review of previously documented Source to Contract (S2C) and Procure to Pay (P2P) process opportunities across the Source to Pay lifecycle.
- Focus on user experience challenges, guided buying limitations, approval workflows, and manual workarounds impacting efficiency and compliance.
Ariba/iBuy Functional Review:
- Assess the current configuration of the Ariba/iBuy platform to identify misused, underutilised, or redundant functionalities.
- Assess the extent to which standard versus custom functionality has been utilised within the current system configuration and provide recommendations where standard Ariba functionality can be leveraged.
- Evaluate key modules including Supplier Management, Guided Buying, Contract Management, Catalogues, and 3-Way Match, with recommendations for optimisation, simplification, and improved adoption.
Integration Review:
- Analyse integration architecture, with a focus on challenges related to MuleSoft and data flow issues.
- Identify technical gaps and propose improvements to strengthen automation, control, and real-time data synchronisation across systems (Ariba, Oracle, Maximo,etc) to enable the accuracy of data flows.
Tactical Sourcing & Delegation of Authority (DOA):
- Review current usage of tactical sourcing by non-procurement users.
- Evaluate system-embedded DOA logic for consistency, clarity, and appropriateness to support compliant and efficient approvals
- Provide recommendations to improve the configuration of the DOA, tactical sourcing and associated workflows.
Supplier Relationship, Performance & Contract Lifecycle Management:
- Assess iBuy’s capabilities for supplier onboarding, performance tracking, and contract lifecycle oversight.
- Identify opportunities for improvement which may relate to supplier onboarding and relationship management, performance monitoring, and contract compliance visibility.
Reporting & Analytics:
- Evaluate current reporting capabilities, including dashboards, spend analytics, and data accessibility
- Identify gaps in visibility and recommend enhancements to enable actionable, drill-down insights and improved decision-making.
- Identify how to solve the business need for improved spend visibility (both procurement spend and corporate credit cards), which includes drill down reporting from Payment to Contract/PO to invoice.
Governance & Controls:
- Recommend governance improvements to strengthen compliance, standardisation, and decision- making.
Business Case Development Support:
- Provide a business case framework/template and detailed technical inputs into the business case, including target-state capabilities, effort estimates, cost to implement, solution recommendations, risk identification, and high-level implementation considerations.
- Provide a high level roadmap to deliver the proposed solutions/recommendations, highlighting any dependencies for sequencing of activities.
Mandatory Requirements:
- SAP Ariba SLP - including optimised design of supplier requests and registration processes, planning of supplier onboarding through SLP.
- SAP Ariba Guided Buying - design optimised buying journey in GB.
- Catalogues set-up, Invoice against Contract, Goods Receiving, Invoice exception set-up within SAP
- Ariba Buying and Invoicing
- Approval Process configuration (DOA and others)
- Invoicing channel optimisation including SAP Business Network enablement
- SAP Ariba Contract and Guided Sourcing - Setup of optimised templates and workflows.
- Ariba Reporting
