We are seeking a motivated and adaptable APS6 Service Designer to work within our Business Architect team, supporting service design squads to deliver user-centered solutions aligned with agency standards.
About the Role
As a Service Designer, you will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project alignment, support workshop facilitation, and contribute to the development of service design artefacts such as journey maps, service blueprints, and personas. Your administrative skills will support the smooth running of projects, including booking meetings, content editing, minute-taking, and project coordination using tools like JIRA.
What You'll Bring
- Proven experience in service design, including creating journey maps, blueprints, personas, and affinity diagrams.
- Strong skills with MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook) and digital design tools (Creately, Figma, Miro, Mural).
- Ability to adapt to new ways of working, manage ambiguity, and thrive in a changing environment.
- Demonstrated experience working in multi-disciplinary agile teams on large projects.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and facilitation skills.
- A theoretical understanding of service design principles, with practical, adaptive application.
- Passion for social causes and a commitment to human-centered, inclusive service delivery.
- Strong research capabilities, both qualitative and quantitative, to inform design decisions.
- Administrative support experience, including scheduling, documentation, and project coordination.
Desirable Attributes
- Lived experience or observed experience of disability.
- Knowledge of working within government or low-maturity agile environments.
- Familiarity with Jira, SharePoint, and social services or public sector context.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain service design artefacts to map current and future participant and staff experiences.
- Facilitate design-thinking workshops to identify pain points and co-create innovative solutions.
- Synthesize insights to build shared understanding across teams.
- Support service evaluation and improvement initiatives.
- Ensure the service experience aligns with the Digital Service Standard and organizational values.
- Provide administrative and project support to the Service Design Lead and team.
- Understand and navigate the agency’s eco-system, including change impacts and governance requirements.
