We are seeking APS6 Project/Program Officers to join federal government agencies for multiple positions. As an APS6 Project/Program Officer, you'll be a key part of a team delivering on strategic projects/grant programs within the healthcare sector. We are looking for adaptable and proactive candidates with a strong understanding of project management principles and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project and Program Management: Contribute to the end-to-end management of projects and programs, including planning, implementation, and reporting.
- Grants Administration: Assist with the coordination and administration of grant programs, including managing applications, providing advice to grant recipients, and monitoring compliance with funding agreements.
- Strategic Initiatives: Support the development and delivery of strategic initiatives, including conducting research, analysing data, and preparing high quality reports and briefing materials.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain productive working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including government bodies, non-government organisations, health professionals, and consumer groups.
- Policy and Program Development: Assist in the development of policy and program options, including drafting policy papers, submissions, and other documentation.
Skills and Experience:
- Understanding of government processes, Australia’s health care system, and key safety and quality issues.
- Previous government experience is beneficial, especially with grants administration or program management
- Background in the Health sector is highly regarded
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills, including sound judgment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to draft clear and concise high-level documents (briefing papers, reviews, submissions, meeting papers) for diverse audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication, building positive stakeholder relationships, and high-level secretariat support.
