The Opportunity
Our recruitment team is currently sourcing an experienced APS6 Intelligence Analyst for a key Federal Government Agency. This role is situated within a high-integrity environment, focusing on payment integrity, tactical intelligence projects, and fraud assessment.
You will be responsible for transforming complex information into actionable intelligence, supporting the Agency’s mission to maintain compliance and transparency across its operational frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Intelligence Production: Manage the end-to-end intelligence cycle to develop and deliver high-level outputs and strategic outcomes.
Tactical Leadership: Lead intelligence projects by designing collection plans, assigning tasks, and analysing financial data to uncover trends and insights.
Investigations & Assessments: Conduct complex fraud and payment integrity assessments, evaluating information from multiple sources to produce formal reports.
Strategic Contribution: Help shape business rules and suggest new avenues for analysis and investigation to improve operational efficiency.
Governance & Compliance: Ensure all intelligence activities and record-keeping comply with Australian legislation, internal policy, and information security frameworks.
Skills & Experience Required
Professional Background: Proven experience within an Australian Government, law enforcement, or military intelligence context.
Qualifications: A recognised Intelligence qualification is highly regarded.
Analytical Depth: Proven ability to gather and interpret complex quantitative and qualitative information to drive evidence-based decisions.
Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and use effective behavioural techniques to resolve issues.
Planning & Organising: Strong capability in establishing action plans, setting priorities, and leveraging resources to meet strict deadlines.
Leadership & Coaching: Demonstrated experience in coaching and building talent to help team members fulfil their responsibilities effectively.
