Our Federal Government client is seeking an APS5 Business Analyst to join The Performance Quality and National Workload Management Branch. In this role, you'll be an integral part of a dedicated team responsible for identifying key trends and insights, and then sharing these findings with Frontline Services to drive improvements in performance and quality.
This is a 12-month opportunity, commencing on August 25th (pending clearance), with full-time hours, located in Robina. The hourly rate for the APS5 level is $55.24 plus super.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Understanding, extracting and presenting data using reporting products such as Microsoft Excel and SAS libraries and data.
- Creating, refining and maintaining projection modelling tools in Excel and other software.
- Generating forecasting reports, visualizations and insights using Excel-based projection modeling for operational and strategic use.
- Drafting communication pieces and presenting business insights and recommendations.
- Contributing to branch reporting to monitor and track improvement outcomes.
- Undertaking quality assurance processes, including quality checks with reports, quality trend analysis and outcomes analysis.
- Using data to identify risks to performance and proposing mitigation measures.
- Providing support to the APS6 Business Analyst in liaising with, managing relationships and educating key agency stakeholders to build knowledge on reporting products and data literacy.
- Identifying best practice approaches through qualitative and quantitative review.
- Managing workflow requests through JIRA triage queries.
Key skills/experience required:
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including, but not limited to advanced charting, Power Query, Pivot Tables, advanced formula functions).
- Driving the creation, refinement, connection and maintenance of projection modelling tools in excel and other software.
- Knowledge of Salesforce analytical tools, including ability to prepare and present business intelligence reports utilising the analytical tools.
- Experience using JIRA is highly desirable.
- Experience drafting communication pieces and presenting business insights and recommendations.
- Strong communication skills to translate technical jargon into accessible communication with stakeholders.
- Forecasting & statistical modeling knowledge and skills.
- Understanding of qualitative and quantitative analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision as an effective member of a team, using a high level of initiative to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to apply judgment to resolve issues and make evidence-informed decisions.
- Ability to respond to changing priorities, support various functions as needed, and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
