The Role
As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be the first point of contact for many of our patients. You will manage a variety of administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment where your ability to prioritise and remain professional in trying situations will be key.
- Customer Service: Greeting patients, assisting with booking-in, and providing professional responses to over-the-counter and telephone enquiries.
- Appointment Management: Managing telephone calls for booking, cancelling, and rescheduling appointments.
- Patient Data Management: Accurately entering data into computerised patient databases (e.g. SUNRISE/EMR) and ensuring the integrity of patient records.
- Medical Records: Preparing medical records for clinics, tracking them electronically, and ensuring all documentation is filed correctly.
- Operational Support: Managing stationery supplies, faxing confidential information, and troubleshooting office equipment to support day-to-day operations.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Interpersonal Skills: Proven ability to respond appropriately to patients and staff with a strong customer service focus.
- Organisational Skills: The initiative to prioritise workloads and meet demanding deadlines under pressure.
- Communication: Sound written and verbal communication skills, including professional telephone etiquette.
- Experience: Previous clerical or receptionist experience, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard office equipment.
- ESSENTIAL: familiarity with SUNRISE/IBA systems
- Desirable: Knowledge of medical terminology, experience in a large hospital environment.
Special Conditions
- Role is subject to holding a current, satisfactory Working with Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Certificate (NPC).
- You must meet specific immunisation risk category requirements.
