An outstanding opportunity has become available for a dedicated and experienced Accountant to join their passionate team on 6 week interim opportunity (with view to extension for the right individual).
About the role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial transactions, completing the month-end close and reporting process, and ensuring overall compliance across the organisation. This role provides leadership both within the finance team and throughout the organisation, helping to drive the financial reporting process and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Your key responsibilities will include:
... End-to-end responsibility for the month-end close and reporting process, including preparing journals and reconciling key P&L and Balance Sheet accounts.
Maintaining the General Ledger and Fixed Asset register.
Preparing and distributing the month-end reporting pack, complete with management commentary, trend analysis, and variance analysis.
Business partnering with managers to analyse performance and collaborate on continuous improvement opportunities.
Assisting with internal and external financial audits and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax laws.
Developing and maintaining internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Key Criteria
To be successful in this role, you will be a highly organised and detail-oriented professional with a collaborative mindset. You must have:
CA or CPA qualification.
Solid experience as an Accountant or in a similar role within Australia.
Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to problem-solve.
A current Victorian driver’s license.
Willingness to undertake a Police Check and a Working with Children’s Check.
Experience with ERP systems and exposure to PowerBI would be highly regarded.
