- VPS4 Grading - $112,492 + super
- Located in either North Melbourne or Geelong with WFH Flexibility provided

About the Role
Our client is a well known Victorian State Government agency. They are currently seeking an experienced Accountant to come in and work from their North Melbourne OR Geelong offices on a fixed term contract role until 26th February 2027 with possibility for extension.
Candidates for this role must have the following:
- Accounting qualification including membership of CPA or ICAA
- Experience with Technology One finance System (Essential)
- Experience in Accounts Receivable and Accounts payable functions
Key responsibilities will include:
- Invoicing and Collections: Manage the full invoicing cycle: Generate, distribute, and ensure accurate and timely invoices, addressing customer inquiries and disputes. Manage accounts receivable: Process payments, prepare and review ageing reports, and actively follow up on overdue invoices to resolve payment issues. Revenue reporting and compliance: Prepare key revenue reports (e.g., monthly variance, Port Fee reconciliation) and ensure compliance with tariffs, legislation, and company policies.
- Financial Accounting: General Ledger and tax compliance: Prepare accurate and timely General Ledger account reconciliations and manage the preparation and lodgement of monthly tax returns (BAS, NTER).
- Systems Administration: Manage finance system administration: Maintain the Technology One finance system, including user access, training, issue resolution, and support for system migrations (e.g., to CI Anywhere).
- Team/Department: Process improvement and compliance: Actively identify and contribute to improvements in work methods, processes, and the development of Finance policies and procedures for continuous improvement and compliance.
- Accounts Payable (back up): Provide backup support: Maintain the ability to learn and provide relief or support for the Accounts Payable function as required.
- OH&S and Environment: Safety and environmental compliance: Understand and comply with all health, safety, environment, and risk management policies, including participating in related training and reporting hazards/incidents.
About You
You will be a CPA or ICAA qualified Accountant with proven experience and reliability in previous positions
The successful candidate will possess:
- Accounting qualification including membership of CPA or ICAA or relevant experience
- Experience with Technology One finance system
- Finance System transition experience.
- Experience in, or ability to learn, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions
- Highly developed oral and written communication, interpersonal and liaison skills, and proven success in delivering outcomes for clients
