Administrative Support Officer (APS4) - Workforce Procurement

We are seeking a highly organized and self-motivated APS4 Administrative Support Officer to join the Workforce Procurement team within Australia's largest Federal Government Organisation in the Disability Sector. Key Information
- Contract: Immediate start until 31st December 2026
- Pay Rate: $43.82 per hour + Super
- Reporting To: APS6 Procurement Team Leader
- Location Choice: Geelong (VIC), Brisbane (QLD), or Parramatta (NSW) (any one of the these locations)
- Eligibility: Must be an Australian Citizen
The Opportunity
The Procurement Branch is vital to the Organisation, partnering with business areas to procure necessary goods and services. All work must adhere to the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and Organisation policy to ensure value-for-money outcomes.
As an integral member of the Workforce Procurement team, the APS4 Officer will provide comprehensive administrative coordination and support. This role requires the ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and consistently maintain a high standard of quality work under pressure.
Core Responsibilities
- Inbox and Calendar Management: Manage the team's shared email inbox, coordinate calendars and appointments, and ensure timely responses aligned with priorities.
- Administrative Support: Respond to general inquiries, assist with invoicing, reconciliation, and associated processes.
- Document and Data Management: Maintain the accuracy of the intranet, workflows, and forms with current processes. Collaborate with the team to ensure the procurement database remains current.
- Accountability: Be responsible for delivering accurate work that meets required timeframes and quality standards.
- Teamwork: Work collaboratively to achieve overall business outcomes and undertake ad hoc duties/projects as directed.
Selection Criteria
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrated administrative experience, with a preference for experience within a government context.
- Proven ability to manage a high-volume team email inbox.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Outlook and Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to following established procedures.
- Proven ability to work autonomously and demonstrate initiative.
Desirable Experience:
- Previous experience working in or with a Procurement or Recruitment team.
