Overview of the role:
- Lead and manage organisational design projects to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Provide expert advice and support on organisational design functions, including workforce planning, change management, and role evaluation.
- Engage with stakeholders and participate in Communities of Practice to share knowledge, best practices, and drive continuous improvement in organisational design.
Key Responsibilities
● Managing the development and maintenance of core role statements within the framework of agency job families, ensuring alignment with organisational standards and requirements.
● Supporting workforce planning by analysing current and future workforce needs and recommending appropriate organisational structures.
● Contributing to specialist advice and support on a range of Organisational Design functions.
● Providing specialist advice and support on Professional and Legal Officer requests, broadbanding requests and role evaluations.
● Conducting organisational assessments to identify areas for improvement and recommend structural changes.
● Completing role evaluation assessments for APS roles.
● Managing and delivering identified Organisational Design projects.
Skills required for the position
● Analytical skills: Ability to assess organisational structures, identify areas for improvement, and recommend effective solutions.
● Stakeholder engagement skills: Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders, gather requirements, and ensure alignment with organisational goals.
● Communication skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey information, present findings, and engage with stakeholders.
● Project management skills: Experience in managing and delivering organisational design projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
● Change management skills: Expertise in developing and implementing strategies to support organisational change and ensure smooth transitions.
Knowledge required for the position:
● Understanding of best practices, methodologies, and trends in organisational design to effectively structure and improve organisations.
● Knowledge of strategies and techniques to manage and support organisational change, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption.
● Familiarity with workforce planning processes, including analysing current and future workforce needs and recommending appropriate organisational structures.
● Proficiency in project management principles and practices to successfully plan, execute,
and deliver organisational design projects.
Qualifications
● Qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organisational Development, or a related field.
● Certifications in project management and/or change management.
● Experience in organisational design or development and/or workforce planning.
