About the Role
Our client is a Victorian Government organisation working to improve how Victorians and businesses interact with the state government by streamlining and digitising services. They are currently seeking a Reconciliation Officer to come in and join their team in the Melbourne CBD on an immediate start contract role until 27th February 2026 with possible extensions.
Please note this opportunity has an ASAP start requirement.
Candidates for this position must have:
- Proven experience with Bank, and Credit Card reconciliations
- Advanced Excel Skills - Ability to complete XLOOKUP and VLOOKUP is essential
- Experience working in collaboration with Auditors
- Strong experience and knowledge around end to end Accounts Receivable processing.
- Salesforce System experience or similar (Desirable but not essential)
As the Reconciliation Officer you will be responsible for managing and ensuring the integrity and accuracy of funds held in the RTBA register. The role requires strong analytical and numerical abilities to generate daily and ad-hoc reports. The role also delivers the reconciliation of manual transactions liaising with a variety of users of the RTBA.
Key responsibilities
- Bond Reconciliation and Accuracy: Perform timely and accurate account reconciliations between the Bond Register and bank statements, ensuring the Bond Register balance is complete.
- Discrepancy Investigation and Resolution: Investigate and resolve all issues and discrepancies that arise during the daily reconciliation process (receipts and payments).
- Stakeholder Liaison and Service: Liaise with diverse internal and external stakeholders to ensure high-level client service and provide assistance on financial accounting matters.
- Financial Reporting: Create, review, and distribute accurate and timely reports related to the Bond Management System to provide clear financial insight.
- Process Maintenance and Improvement: Effectively maintain processing and business rules used for reconciliation and actively strive for improvement in efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of work.
- Issue Identification and Innovation: Identify emerging issues and trends from user and internal queries and propose innovative options for developing financial and administrative processes.
- Audit Assistance: Assist with financial management audits (including VAGO and internal audits) of the RTBA's systems and processes.
About You
You will be an experienced Reconciliation officer with proven experience with salesforce system and banking transactions.
The successful candidate will possess
- Proven experience with Bank, and Credit Card reconciliations
- Advanced Excel Skills - Ability to complete XLOOKUP and VLOOKUP is essential
- Strong experience and knowledge around end to end Accounts Receivable processing.
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills to conduct research, evaluate data and consider solution outcomes before undertaking action.
- Well-developed verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Proven ability to produce specialist financial, budgetary and accounting reports.
