Key Responsibilities
As a Graphic Designer, you will provide expert design support to the Engagement and Events team, ensuring all visual assets align with refreshed brand guidelines. Your accountabilities include:
- Brand Implementation: Applying new brand guidelines to existing digital assets, including social graphics, web imagery, and backgrounds.
- Template Development: Leading the creation of brand-aligned, accessible templates and visual assets for Microsoft Office (Word and PowerPoint).
- Asset Management: Updating and maintaining a comprehensive asset library and ensuring strict version control.
- Compliance: Ensuring all design materials meet Victorian Government branding standards and accessibility (WCAG) compliance.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partnering with project leads across the department to translate communication needs into professional design solutions.
Key Selection Criteria
The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:
- Digital & Technical Literacy: Ability to integrate improved capabilities into service delivery and act as a solution architect for technical design projects.
- Customer Focus: Identifying customer requirements and tailoring services to ensure high-quality outcomes.
- Communication with Impact: Preparing logical, succinct presentations and using clear language appropriate to the audience.
- Project Delivery: Executing work against plans, prioritizing tasks based on urgency, and maintaining accurate records.
- Stakeholder Management: Responding promptly to client needs and taking responsibility for resolving issues.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign/Photoshop) and Microsoft Office template development.
Experience & Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience applying government standards.
- Strong understanding of digital accessibility requirements (WCAG).
- Formal design qualifications and basic knowledge of Figma are highly regarded.
