Technical Officer – Nursing Simulated Health Laboratory (HEW 6)

My University client is seeking a Technical Officer to support the daily operations of its Nursing Simulated Health Laboratories. This is an onsite, hands-on role assisting with simulation setups, equipment maintenance, and class support during teaching periods.
About the Role
- Time fraction: 3–5 days/week (includes some late finishes during semester)
- On-campus, face-to-face lab support
- Backfill for staff member on return-to-work
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and pack down simulation labs
- Support teaching activities using manikins, task trainers, AV systems
- Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance
- Prepare equipment, consumables, and moulage
- Manage inventories and maintain safe, organised lab spaces
- Assist with OSCE assessments and peak periods
About You
- Qualification in Nursing, Medical/Clinical or related discipline, or relevant experience
- Nursing registration not required
- Valid Working with Children Check
- Experience with simulation labs or healthcare equipment
- Knowledge of nursing procedures, pharmacology fundamentals, and medication safety
- Ability to lift, move, and set up equipment
- Strong technical, troubleshooting and organisational skills
- Flexible availability for variable hours when required
