This full-time, on-site role is available and offers a hands-on opportunity to work across environmental laboratories and field sites.

About the Role

You will oversee day-to-day laboratory operations and provide advanced technical support across environmental chemistry activities, including soil, groundwater, surface water, and biosolids sampling and analysis.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing laboratory equipment, consumables, chemical inventories, and waste.
• Operating and supporting analytical instruments (e.g. CN analysers, FTIR, ion chromatography) and field sampling equipment.
• Developing SOPs, risk assessments, and training documentation.
• Supporting academic staff with practical classes and research activities.
• Ensuring compliance with OH&S and quality standards.

About You

• Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Demonstrated laboratory and fieldwork experience in environmental sampling and analysis.
• Strong knowledge of OH&S requirements.
• Highly organised with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Current driver’s licence.
• Available full-time on-site at the CBD Melbourne campus.
