In this role, you will be the voice of our green initiatives, helping to develop and deliver programs that inspire both our staff and the local community to embrace a more sustainable future.
Key Accountabilities:
As our Sustainability Communications Officer, you will play a vital role in bringing our Net Zero Communities program to life. Your day-to-day will involve:
Social Media & Web: Coordinating content for the Facebook page and environment e-newsletters, while providing publishing support for our website
Community Engagement: Supporting the delivery and promotion of sustainability programs, events, and community rebates (such as Energy Smart programs)
Collaboration: Working closely with various departments, from Waste Services to the Wildflower Garden staff, as well as external residents and Net Zero Champions
- Administration: Utilising your technical skills to manage data, report on program outcomes, and ensure a high standard of customer service
Key Requirements:
We are looking for a proactive team player who can work autonomously when needed and possesses the following:
Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent work experience
Current NSW Class C driver’s licence
Proven background in environmental, sustainability, or community engagement roles
Demonstrated expertise in social media coordination and writing for diverse online audiences
Experience in event delivery and providing administrative support to a team
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Teams) and online platforms like Zoom
Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for events
