Randstad are proud to partner with a key government body overseeing the delivery of vital infrastructure projects across the state.
Are you a seasoned construction professional ready to step into a critical site-based role, ensuring large-scale works are delivered with precision, compliance, and within contractual limits? We are seeking a Site Representative (AO6) to act as the eyes and ears on the ground for the Project Superintendent's team.
This isn't just a site-checking role; you will be the lynchpin between the managing contractor and the project leadership, driving accountability and ensuring success.
The Opportunity
You will be based at the Palen Creek Correctional Centre, focusing on the day-to-day coordination and oversight of significant construction works. Your core mission is to protect the client's interests by ensuring every aspect of the build aligns with the project documentation, approved plans, and contractual agreements.
Key areas of focus will include:
... - Contractual Stewardship: Applying contractual obligations honestly and fairly to all parties involved in the works.
- Quality Assurance: Undertaking daily site inspections and confirming the managing contractor's works are executed strictly in accordance with approved project documentation.
- Progress and Performance Monitoring: Reviewing site progress continuously against the officially approved construction program.
- Compliance Management: Ensuring all mandatory Building Act Compliance inspections are performed and that meticulous records are maintained.
- Project Liaison: Serving as a primary communicator, liaising effectively with the client and all project team members regarding potential risks related to cost, time, and quality.
- Administrative Support: Assisting the Superintendent's team with the onsite validation of key contractor documentation, including payment claims, variations, Extension of Time (EOT) requests, and Requests for Information (RFIs).
What You Will Bring
- Experience: A minimum of five years' proven experience in delivering large-scale commercial construction projects.
- Contracts Expertise: Demonstrated, proven experience in contract administration.
- Education: A degree in Engineering or a relevant tertiary qualification. Consideration will also be given to candidates with relevant TAFE or trade backgrounds.
- Mandatory Requirements: A current White Card and driver's licence.
- Clearances: The ability to successfully obtain Queensland Corrective Services clearances is essential.
- Highly Desirable: Previous experience in a similar site representation role or experience working within complex, operational 24/7 facilities (like correctional centres or hospitals) is highly valued, but not essential.
It is expected that the successful candidate will possess strong oral/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. They will display initiative, attention to detail, and have the ability to work autonomously and unsupervised whilst contributing to the wider team's objectives of ensuring service delivery exceeds expectations.
