We are seeking a highly autonomous and commercially aware Technician to be their technical expert and ambassador in the Australian market. This role requires more than just service expertise; it demands creative problem-solving and a proactive approach.
Based in a dedicated Melbourne (Bangholme) facility, you will be responsible for maintaining complex, heavy-duty hydraulic and mechanical installation tools, as well as traveling the country servicing tools on site for tier 1 & 2 Wind farm operators.
Senior Mindset Required: You will operate independently, managing client relationships, providing expert consultation, and proactively identifying opportunities for our solutions in the Australian wind energy sector.
... - Creative Problem Solving: Diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment faults independently. You must be able to design and propose solutions on the fly, often without standard documentation or procedure ("no manual"). There will be plenty of support from peers, locally and overseas to bounce ideas off though.
- Commercial Acumen: Manage sensitive client discussions relating to scope, budgets, pricing, and invoicing with professionalism and a senior business outlook.
- Expert Maintenance: Execute highly skilled planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance on large-scale mechanical and hydraulic tooling.
- Travel: As this is a service role, there will be some travel, inducing weekends (approx. 1-10 days per month, variable, primarily within Australia, however travel for specialised product training could be overseas on occasion).
What You Bring (Essential Must-Haves)
- A relevant Mechanical Trade Qualification (Restricted electrical license highly regarded)
- Open Drivers license with reliable transport
- Working at heights and confined spaces tickets highly desirable
- High risk work licence & EWP over 11m highly regarded
- LF licence highly regarded
- Proven, hands-on experience in Heavy Industrial Hydraulics and Mechanical Maintenance/Troubleshooting (experience with large industrial lifting, mining or marine components is highly regarded).
- Demonstrated ability in creative Problem Solving—a track record of successfully resolving complex, novel issues independently.
- Exceptional Client Management Skills and evidence of handling commercial discussions (invoicing, pricing) with a senior perspective.
- A Growth Mindset and a desire to contribute actively to business development.
- Willingness to travel locally ,interstate and internationally for service work .
The Package
- Target Base Salary: $45- $65 per hour, plus travel, healthcare benefits and overtime. Highly negotiable depending on experience.
