We are embarking on a massive, ground-up build of a new enterprise e-commerce website. Our client have successfully launched storefronts and are now building a full-scale web ecosystem from scratch.
This is a technical design role for a Senior Designer who understands that "retail is detail." You won’t just be designing a product tile; you’ll be designing the 30+ logic-based variations of that tile to account for every edge case, state, and data requirement in an enterprise environment.
The Opportunity
This is a high-stakes, two-phase project requiring an end-to-end specialist. You will lead the charge from initial discovery through to high-fidelity interface delivery.
Phase 1 (UX): Heavy-duty requirements gathering, stakeholder alignment, and mapping complex user flows for a brand-new site architecture.
Phase 2 (UI): Translating those robust requirements into a scalable, high-performing design system and interface.
Given the depth of the roadmap, there is a strong potential for this contract to extend as we move from build to launch and optimization.
What You’ll Be Doing
Requirements to Reality: Leading the end-to-end design process, starting with intensive UX requirements gathering and translating them into technical interface solutions.
Deep-Dive Componentry: Designing highly functional components (e.g., crafting the 30+ variations needed for a single product tile to handle stock levels, promos, bundles, and tiered pricing).
Full-Scale Architecture: Building the UX foundations for a new website—not just a skin, but a functional engine that serves millions.
Stakeholder Navigation: Working closely with product and engineering teams to ensure your designs are technically feasible and meet business logic.
What We’re Looking For
Seniority (7+ Years): You have a proven track record of building large-scale e-commerce sites from the ground up.
Technical UX Pedigree: You don't shy away from complexity. You understand the data and logic that sit behind a retail interface.
Enterprise Experience: You’ve worked with major Australian retailers (e.g., Kmart, Bunnings, Myer, Woolworths) and understand the nuances of the local market.
End-to-End Capability: Expert-level skills in both UX (wireframing, logic, research) and UI (design systems, high-fidelity execution).
Systemic Thinking: Ability to design for scale, ensuring every component is modular and accounts for all possible user states.
Why This Role?
True Ownership: Lead the design of a new digital flagship from Day 1.
Technical Challenge: Solve the kind of complex problems that junior or mid-weight roles never see.
Longevity: A 6-month initial term with a clear path to extension as we roll out further phases.
Note: This role is for a seasoned professional. We require a portfolio that demonstrates deep-dive documentation, complex logic flows, and high-fidelity e-commerce interfaces.
At Randstad Digital, we are passionate about providing equal employment opportunities and embracing diversity to the benefit of all. We actively encourage applications from any background.
